FAQs
NanoTech Rust Converter is an innovative solution designed to convert existing rust on various surfaces into a durable anti-corrosion coating. It eliminates the need for part replacement or extensive surface preparation, such as sandblasting or acid washing, and provides long-lasting protection against future corrosion.
NanoTech Rust Converter nano-particles penetrate deep in the rust, converting the iron oxide to a stable complex, and halting the corrosion process. The reaction occurs momentarily after application. The metal oxide nanoparticles act as molecular-corrosion inhibitor carriers and binding agents, enhancing the adhesion, strength, and stability properties of the final coating.
One of the key advantages of NanoTech Rust Converter is that it requires limited or no surface preparation. Unlike traditional methods, there’s no need for time-consuming and cumbersome processes like sandblasting or acid washing. Simply remove the loose flakes by scraping or pressure washing. and apply the rust converter directly onto the rusted surface. If surfaces are suspected to have chloride, sulfate or nitrate contamination (normally called CSN salts), a water jet may be needed.
NanoTech Rust Converter offers versatility in application. It can be easily sprayed, brushed, or applied with a roller, allowing you to adapt the application method to various parts and shapes of surfaces.
Yes, NanoTech’s plant-based water-based Rust formulation does not contain hazardous chemicals. The neutral pH of the product makes it safe for the applicators and does not cause further corrosion or erosion of surfaces. It is non-toxic, environmentally friendly, and poses no harm to users or the environment.
NanoTech Rust Converter has a fast-drying formula, allowing you to see the effects quickly within a few minutes after application. The active ingredients in the product take action within a short period of time, minimizing waiting times and enabling efficient rust restoration.
Absolutely! NanoTech Rust Converter is compatible with a wide variety of water-based and oil-based top coats. This compatibility allows you to achieve a new and premium look for the applied surfaces while further enhancing their protection against corrosion. For further information regarding our recommended top coats, please contact our team.
NanoTech Rust Converter offers exceptional durability. Its formulation incorporates metal oxide nanoparticles and specific composition ratios and structures that function as molecular-corrosion inhibitor carriers and binding agents. This enhances the adhesion, mechanical strength, and stability properties of the final coating, ensuring long-lasting protection against corrosion. The long term durability of the coating has been tested in third-party test labs.
The product has been subject to weathering/aging test and salt spray test to evaluate its resistance in harsh environmental conditions. The Arrhenius equation is one of the best-known models for assessing the lifetime of coatings and is commonly used to predict the combined effect of temperature and humidity. According to the test results, our product’s lifetime is perceived to be over 10 years.
By using NanoTech Rust Converter, you can enjoy the following benefits: significant savings by eliminating the need for cumbersome surface preparation methods, easy and versatile application on various surfaces and shapes, potent nano-based formula for effective rust conversion, fast-drying formula for quick results, non-hazardous and environmentally friendly formulation, durable and long-lasting corrosion protection, and compatibility with different top coats for a premium finish.
Yes, NanoTech Rust Converter can be applied to surfaces of various sizes. Whether you have small parts or large structures like building structure, scaffolding, cars, boats, storage tanks, or pipes, the converter is suitable for use on a wide range of surface areas.
NanoTech Rust Converter is compatible with a variety of metals, including iron, steel, and other ferrous alloys. It can effectively convert rust on these surfaces, providing corrosion protection and a fresh new look.
NanoTech’s advantage lies in offering a well-differentiated premium solution in the form of its bio-based rust converter product that is produced from sustainable resources. As opposed to conventional rust converters that are based on phosphoric acid and/or formic acid (which are produced in chemical processing plants), the main reactive ingredient of NanoTech’s product is derived from plants. In addition to offering a high degree of safety, its plant-based origin also aligns with principles of sustainability and environmental consciousness.
Phosphoric acid-based rust converters pose safety concerns and require careful handling, necessitating the implementation of proper safety protocols and preventive measures. Furthermore, the treatment process with such products typically entails a relatively lengthy application time, as the coated rust must remain wet for an extended period to allow the acid to effectively penetrate the rust. Formic acid-based formulations offer a comparatively improved safety profile in comparison to phosphoric acid, however, it has challenges associated with its shorter lifespan. Through extensive laboratory testing, and field testing, NanoTech’s product has demonstrated superior durability and longevity when compared to competitors’ offerings. This advantage is supported by a comparative analysis studied based on competitors’ claims and the results from NanoTech’s AnarPrime performance tests.
Yes, NanoTech Rust Converter is a primer. The coating along with a top-coat (and sometimes a middle coat for extra protection) is able to provide protection in various environments, including outdoor and harsh conditions. Its durable formulation ensures that the converted rust coating withstands exposure to moisture, UV rays, and other environmental factors.
Yes, NanoTech Rust Converter is effective for surfaces with varying degrees of rust, including those with heavy rust or surfaces with propagated rusty areas.
NanoTech Rust Converter is primarily designed for converting existing rust. its intended purpose is to transform rust into a protective coating, however, it may also be used as a preventive measure on non-rusted surfaces.
NanoTech Rust Converter is a primer. Applying a top coat is recommended for enhancing the aesthetic appearance and further extending the protection against corrosion. It is compatible with many water-based and oil-based top coats. For more information regarding the compatible middle/top coats, please contact our team.
Yes, NanoTech Rust Converter is well-suited for industrial applications due to its versatility, ease of use, and long-lasting protection. It can be applied to various industrial equipment, machinery, structures, and components to prevent and combat rust.
Absolutely! NanoTech Rust Converter is commonly used in automotive applications to address rust issues on vehicles. It can be applied to car frames, undercarriages, and other susceptible areas, providing effective rust conversion and protection.
An adequate film thickness is essential for the success of any coating system. Under-application will generally result in premature failure for obvious reasons. However, the old adage of “the more paint, the better” can be equally dangerous. The gross over-application of modern high technology coatings can lead either to solvent entrapment and subsequent loss of adhesion, or to splitting of primer coats. With the majority of coatings, the limits of acceptable dry film thickness allow for reasonable practical variation, but the specified film thickness should always be the target during application. The actual dry film thickness recommended for a particular surface will depend on the type of coating system being used and the nature of the surface. Recommended dry/wet film thicknesses and the surface coverage of the product are given on the product data sheet.
